Curriculum Leaders: Miss Andrews and Mrs Davison

At Kidgate Academy, our History curriculum is designed to foster a thoughtful understanding of the past and to encourage children to think critically about how it shapes the present. Our goal is to spark curiosity and develop analytical skills by helping children explore significant events, people, and cultures through meaningful experiences.

History is taught as a discrete subject to deepen understanding. However, there are natural links with other areas of the curriculum, such as Geography, Art, and English. By making these connections, we help children see that History isn’t just about the past – it’s about understanding the world today and imagining what’s possible for tomorrow.
