Physical Education

Curriculum Leader: Mrs Iveson

At Kidgate Academy, we place a strong emphasis on health and well-being as essential life skills, with the belief that fostering a physically active lifestyle from an early age is key to lifelong success. Our goal is to integrate physical literacy into every aspect of our curriculum and school culture, ensuring that it becomes a natural part of daily life for our students.

We are dedicated to providing children with a wide range of opportunities to engage in various sports and physical activities, allowing them to discover their strengths, interests, and the joy of movement. We aim to expose students to different types of physical exercise—whether it's team sports, individual challenges, or creative movement—so they develop both the skills and the confidence to stay active throughout their lives.

By the time our students leave Kidgate Academy, we aim for them to not only be proficient in various physical skills but also to understand the holistic benefits of staying active. Physical activity plays a vital role in improving not just physical health, but also cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, and social connections. We believe that by nurturing these aspects of physical development, we are helping to shape well-rounded, resilient individuals who understand the importance of balance, teamwork, and self-care.
